The limits of Ziv's strategy: the largest working precision in digits, 64\,\mathit{prec} + 1000 + 2 \min(\mathit{operand\_digits}, DECIMAL_CONV_DIGITS_LIMIT); whether the gr method method is an elementary function, whose loop may go up to the length of the operands (other functions stop at 64\,\mathit{prec} + 1000 digits); and whether the arguments (real parts re, imaginary parts im or NULL) are rejected before any evaluation as too costly for the method.
